Start with the mark.
At Inkstrand, we teach calligraphy as a physical language: pressure, pace, spacing and the quiet decisions between strokes. You do not need beautiful handwriting or a design background. You need an hour, a table, and permission to make the first page a little untidy.
Our adult workshops move between guided drills and open making. Some guests come to reset after a busy week; others arrive with a sketchbook full of ideas. Both are welcome. We keep groups small enough for useful feedback and roomy enough for conversation.

Find a working rhythm.
Choose a one-evening introduction, a Saturday studio session, or a four-week lettering course. Materials are set out before you arrive: nibs, brushes, ink, pencils and practice sheets. You leave with notes that make sense at your own kitchen table, not a stack of rules to forget.

Take your line into the city.
We are on Rue de la République in central Lyon, a short walk from the river and easy to reach after work. Drop in to look at paper samples, ask which session fits, or write to us first. The studio is made for unhurried learning, one deliberate line at a time.
