Inkstrand Studio is an adult workshop space in Lyon for people who enjoy making things slowly and well.
Why Inkstrand?
We started with a simple observation: screens make plenty of things faster, but they do not replace the satisfaction of a line made by hand. A letter can carry tempo, texture and care before it says a word. That is worth spending time with.
Our teaching is practical rather than precious. We explain the tools, offer demonstrations, and leave room for experiments. You may come for an evening and leave with a new way to address a card; you may stay for a season and build a personal lettering practice. Either path counts.
The studio welcomes adults of every experience level. We work in English, with visual demonstrations and clear individual guidance. Our tables are a calm place to concentrate, compare notes and make something you will want to keep.
In the centre of Lyon
You will find us at Rue de la République 62. The door is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00–19:00, for booked workshops and studio enquiries. Please write before visiting if you are coming specifically to discuss a course.
